A message from outgoing MS president, Jack Saperstone ’18

Posted on June 13, 2014

Hello!

I’m Jack Saperstone, the Middle School President. This is my third year at Beaver. Beaver is a great school with so many opportunities to try different activities. As an athlete, I enjoy playing on the soccer and lacrosse teams. Technical theatre is another one of my favorite activities at Beaver. In fact, it’s something I had never done before coming to Beaver. In tech, we build the sets for the shows and also run the lights, sound, and all the backstage work during the actual show. As the President of the Middle School, I am in charge of Student Council. The Student Council meets once a week, and we plan events to build community at Beaver. Earlier this year, we hosted a Middle School handball tournament. All the students loved this because it was a time to run around and root on their favorite team. For this month, we planned Thursday Thrill, which was a day of games in the gym followed by an ice cream party to give students a break from all of their hard work.

Another thing I enjoy about Beaver is the way we use computers in the classroom. Instead of just listening to our teachers, we’re able to engage more in the classroom through the technology. We do live TED talks in class, learn how to digitally speak, and do a lot of creative projects.

Sincerely,
Jack Saperstone ’18
