The Neo-Futurists at Beaver: Greg Allen to speak to students, conduct master classes

This Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 12-13, students have the unique opportunity to work with Greg Allen, founding director of The Neo-Futurists, an experimental theater troupe, and creator of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes) which has been running continuously in Chicago since 1988 and in New York City since 2005. Beaver students will experience writing and performing these plays, and over the course of two days, Mr. Allen will conduct master classes with Upper School theater students, speak at an All School meeting, and share his playwriting process with the cast of the winter play (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1).

Greg Allen has written and directed more than 50 other professional productions including The Last Two Minutes of the Complete Works of Henrik Ibsen, H20, Jokes and Their Relation to the Unconscious, and K., his award-winning adaptation of Kafka’s The Trial.
