Beaver falls to Millbrook in NESPCA Class C championship game, ends season 19-3

Posted on November 19, 2012

Beaver Boys’ Soccer capped an outstanding season by taking on a talented and speedy Millbrook team in the NEPSAC Class C final Sunday.

Millbrook took an early lead on a quality finish from the lightning fast Edward Opoku. Beaver responded with several chances and a tying penalty kick goal by Zachary Herivaux. Millbrook capitalized twice later in the first half as Beaver’s back four had difficulty tracking. Coming out of the break, Beaver made adjustments and seemed to neutralize the speed of Millbrook’s front two. Silmar Bueno tallied halfway through the second half to bring the score to 3-2, and Beaver looked to equalize as tensions mounted. However, it wasn’t meant to be: Millbrook scored late to finish the game off at 4-2.

Congratulations to both teams on a very hard fought and competitive final and two fantastic seasons.

Beaver finished with a 19-3 record and the 2012 EIL Championship.
