Posted on September 28, 2012

This week, three student-athletes were honored with Athletic Accolades. Danny Getz ’13, Devon Friedfertig ’13, and Lily Winton ’17 received the award for their hard work and performance on the field and course.

Danny Getz ’13 Varsity Soccer

Danny has played a significant part in the team’s early success. Through the first couple games of league play, he leads the EIL in goals against average. Against BB&N, Danny made two point blank acrobatic saves in the dying minutes to preserve the win. He has led by example and has  consistently worked hard for the benefit of the team.

Devon Friedfertig ’13 JV Golf

At Leo J. Martin Golf Course against Chapel Hill Devon posted the low round of the day with a 45 and won his match 7.5 to 1.5.  Devon consistently hit 250 yard drives right down the middle of the fairways and compiled 4 pars on his way to victory.

Lily Winton ’17

Lily has scored 4 goals in 2 games. She’s battling injury, but still shows up to practice, plays hard and always has a great attitude. Her personality on and off the field makes her a pleasure to coach.  She has shown great leadership at all times.
