Beaver opened the 2012 campaign with a solid performance at Lexington Christian Academy on Monday. The boys carried play throughout, outshooting the Lions by a margin of 30-2. Beaver got on the scoreboard first when Jamie Kennedy (2015) beat his man around the edge at the left side of the box and slotted home from close range. Beaver went on to hit the woodwork twice and misfired from close range several times to go into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The second stanza saw more of the same, with the LCA keeper making numerous quality saves and getting help from his posts and crossbar an additional three times. Zack LaCava (2014) dominated in his wide attacking role creating numerous chances for his teammates and himself. In the midfield, Zachary Herivaux (2015) proved too much for the Lions as he notched a goal and an assist and helped his team to own much of the possession. Silmar Bueno (2014) scored on a header to round out the scoring. Danny Getz (2013) and Nat Brown (2015) shared time in net for Beaver and came away with the clean sheet. Alex Schechter (2014) and Michael Gray (2014) kept the Beaver backs well organized for the entire 80 minutes conceding zero shots on goal. Beaver will be back in action on Wednesday when the boys head north to take on the Vikings of Landmark.
