Hoping to build on last year’s success, Beaver’s robotics team, the Beaverbots, has completed its robot and is ready to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition on March 23 and 24 at Boston University’s Agganis Arena.
In this year’s basketball-themed game, “Rebound Rumble”, robots will shoot basketballs into one of four baskets on each end of the game field. Each basket is mounted at a different height; the higher the basket, the higher the points awarded. At the end of the two minute and 15 second match, robots can earn additional points by balancing on bridges located in the middle of the field.
