The Varsity Fencing team, struggling without one of their captains, still managed to come away with one win at their duel meet on Wednesday. Against Boston University Academy, the women won by a score of 21-6. For the second time this season, the men’s side came up one point short, and lost to BUA by a score of 14-13. Against Buckingham Browne and Nichols, the women lost by a score of 19-8, and the men lost 17-10.
Senior Joseph Randles and freshman Cam Mayer were undefeated, and captain Nora Demick ended the day with five wins. In spite of faulty equipment, captian Omari Spears won four bouts. Other strong performances from Emma Lynch, Kathryn Chinetti, Sophie Goldstein, Cam Cyker, and Alex Behr kept Beaver in the match. Next week the team hosts two home meets against strong opponents.
