During an all-school assembly on October 13, three student-athletes were recognized with Athletic Accolades. Nora Demick ’12, Maria Zecca ’13, and Will French ’17 were honored for their outstanding work in their respective sports.
Nora Demick ’12, Varsity Field Hockey
Nora is the foundation of varsity field hockey’s young defense. As the team’s senior captain goalie who has prospects to play next year in college, Nora has had no off-season for nearly a year and a half. Taking on seven intense goalie camps this summer, Nora has come out for her senior season on fire and ready to take on the toughest opponents. Her presence in goal has even caught the eye of coaches from the other teams.
Maria Zecca ’13, Girls’ Varsity Soccer
Maria may be new to the Beaver girls’ soccer team this year, but she is already making a lasting impact. Her aggressiveness and determination have made her an offensive threat in the Eastern Independent League (EIL). Currently, she is one of the top goal scorers in the league with 10 goals on the season. Maria’s hard work ethic and leadership has led the team to an impressive 4-2-2 start.
Will French ’17, Middle School Cross Country
Will is a great competitor. He works extremely hard in practices and has been our top performer two weeks in a row. At a recent meet he was clearly tired, but coming down the stretch with another runner, he dug deep to pull ahead and take third place overall. He has led the team to two second place team finishes.
