Stephen Phillips ’11 (varsity baseball), Neddy Beckwith ’11 (boys’ varsity lacrosse), and Lina Sullivan ’15 (MS girls’ lacrosse) are the most recent recipients of Athletic Accolades.
“So far on the season, Stephen Phillips leads the team with a .333 batting average while scoring 7 runs and compiling 6 Runs Batted In as well as a .470 on base percentage,” says coach Jake Walter. “In addition to his prowess at the plate, Stephen is 1-0 on the mound with 1 save. This comes on the heels of his performance Monday when he hit the go-ahead double and then came into the game as a pitcher to save it.”
“Senior Neddy Beckwith has been a tremendous asset to the boys’ varsity lacrosse program here at Beaver,” raves coach Jeff Anderson. “He has been a member of the team for four years but is a first year starting attackman. He has worked very hard gaining the support and trust of the coaching staff to run the offense and capitalize on scoring opportunities. Neddy has scored at least one point (goal or assist) in every game this year and has three or more points in 3 of the 4 wins Beaver has tallied on the season. Currently, Neddy is the leading point scorer for first-year starters with 6 goals and 9 assists in 7 games. I am excited to see what he will produce for the remainder of the season and will rely heavily on Neddy’s field vision and ball movement to control the offensive side of the field.”
“Lina Sullivan is a very hard working player who is always ready to do what is needed on and off the field,” says coach Elizabeth McGann. “She is a quiet leader on the field, leads by example, and her sportsmanship is top notch. In our last game against Newton Country Day she had two goals.”
