In their first match of the yea, Beaver’s JV tennis team bead Brimmer & May’s varsity team be a score of 4-1.
At #1 Singles, Hunter Flint got down quickly in his match against a very consistent opponent. After falling back 7-1, Hunter started to fight back by constructing good opportunities to come to net. He eventually succumbed, 4-8.
Trevor Hoffman faced an opponent at #2 Singles that hit with a lot of spin. Trevor adjusted well to the unusual shots, and won his match 8-4.
JV Co-Captain Neil Hildick-Smith had a lot of terrific rallies with his opponent at #3 singles, and his consistency helped him handily win, 8-1.
At #1 doubles, Harry Polstein and Michael Barrow put together a solid match and fought off a late rally to hold on for an 8-5 victory.
Kyle Fox and Co-Captain John Evans won their match at #2 doubles, 6-2. Strong net play helped them overcome some errors in their baseline game.
