Beaver Boys Tennis Fall To Dexter in NEPSAC Finals

Posted on May 23, 2011

The boys were defeated by Dexter in the Finals of the NEPSAC tournament.  Doubles was played first, with Dexter capturing the doubles point with wins at 1st Doubles and 3rd Doubles.  Jay Rodman and Colin Read were ahead in their match at 2nd Doubles when play was stopped to begin singles.  Down 1-0 heading into singles, the boys would have needed to win 4 of the singles matches to take the match.  Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, as Dexter won matches at 1st Singles, 2nd Singles, and 4th Singles to clinch the match.  Jay Rodman, at 3rd singles, won his first set and was up in his second set when play was stopped.  TJ Moor, Kris Bronner, and Colin Read all competed very hard and played great matches in defeat.  Credit goes to a strong Dexter team that earned this victory.  The boys close out their season in their last league contest at Portsmouth Abbey this week.  A win will give the boys their third consecutive undefeated league campaign.
