Boys tennis lost to Dexter 4-1 on Friday at Mt. Ida.
The boys played the NEPSAC format for the match, with the teams playing 3 doubles pro sets collectively worth 1 point, followed by 6 singles matches, each worth 1 point. Despite a strong performance by Jay Rodman and Colin Read at second doubles, winners by a score of 8-4, Beaver dropped the doubles point with tough losses at first doubles (6-8), and at third doubles (8-9). Beaver evened the match at 1-1 with a win by Kristopher Bronner at second singles, 6-4 6-4, but dropped matches at first, fifth, and sixth singles to go down 4-1. With Dexter having clinched the match, matches at third and fourth singles were stopped.
The boys next play in a tough league match at Pingree next Monday.
