Beaver Falls to .500 as Abbey Proves Too Much

Posted on April 30, 2011

Portsmouth Abbey got a complete game six strike out performance from pitcher Billy Young, and this would be more than enough to defeat the Beaver 9 Friday by the score of 10-2.

Sophomore southpaw Devon Friedfertig was touched for the loss for Beaver. After falling behind 5-0 after two, Beaver briefly battled back with a two run shot by Friedfertig that left the diamond on Upper Field, his first of the 2011 campaign. However, Abbey’s bats would not be quieted and Beaver fell to 4-4 overall, 4-2 in league play.

They return to league action on Monday with a 4:00 tilt at LCA.
