Freshly-minted Beaver grad Hayley Yudelman ’10 of Newton qualified for the US Rowing Youth Junior National Championship Regatta in Cincinnati, June 11-13. Hayley is representing Community Rowing Inc. in the women’s youth division.
June 13, 2010: Hayley placed 1st in the women’s lightweight youth 8 final and 4th in the women’s 2x sculling final.
Following the national regatta, she will attend US Rowing’s sculling selection camp, which picks the national team for the 2010 World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic in early August. At last year’s National Regatta, Hayley’s boat placed fourth in the women’s youth lightweight 8’s division.
Hayley, a BCDS “lifer” who will join the University of Michigan crew team this fall, wrote her college admission essay on the demands of balancing her rigorous crew training with academics. Read her essay (published the school’s online newspaper The Beaver Reader).
