Freshman boys’ basketball player Rene Castro’s outstanding season was recognized by NEPSAC coaches as he was voted a first team Class D All-Star. Castro is the only freshman to earn an all-star nod this year.

Boys’ varsity basketball head coach Juan Figueroa praised Castro saying, “We are very delighted to have Rene honored as a first team all-star. His competiveness and coachability are a coach’s dream.”

Castro helped lead the team to EIL regular season and tournament championships. During the first round of the EIL tournament against Bancroft he connected on a three-pointer with four seconds remaining to send the game into overtime where Beaver came away with a 67-60 victory.
