Visit China Virtually in Photos by Adam Rice ’06

Posted on January 4, 2010

As a Beaver student, Adam Rice ’06 traveled twice to Kenya and documented his experiences with a series of photos that he exhibited on campus. Now a senior at Middlebury College, Adam has trained his keen photographic eye on China with stunning results. You can see some of Adam’s China photos at: http://picasaweb.google.com/adambenrice

Adam enrolled in college thinking he might be pre-med, but since taking his first Chinese language course as a freshman he has immersed himself in the Chinese language and culture. The summer following his sophomore year he attended Middlebury’s intensive language school, and then he spent the second half of his junior year studying in Beijing and Hangzhou. For his senior thesis, Adam is translating a classical Chinese novel that has never before been translated into English. He still hopes to become a doctor one day, but is considering teaching Chinese in a school before continuing his studies.
