This winter the Upper School play will look a little different. Instead of the traditional 10 weeks of rehearsal leading up to two nights of shows, the performing arts department will produce a 3-episode video series which will culminate with a live on-stage finale on Thursday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m.
During the term, students will learn all aspects of video production from storyboarding to video editing. Each student will have the opportunity to be on-camera and to work behind the scenes in one of the many tech positions.
The short series, titled Fashion 47, follows a Project Runway-type reality show during its final episode, crowning of a winner, and the winner’s fashion show in Bryant Park. But the results are not without controversy. Were the results fair? Some people think not. So who was behind the rigged fashion show? All will be revealed in the live on-stage finale.
Currently, the team is preparing to shoot its first episode which should be completed by the third week of January. Episodes will be uploaded to BCDStv, so you will be able to watch them right here on the BCDS mashUp.
We’ll follow the production by posting photos of the video shoots soon.
