Leili’s experience receiving routine allergy shots inspired her to consider an alternative to the often uncomfortable injections: magnetic microneedle patches. After learning about microneedle patches through her initial research into the topic, Leili did a deep dive into the cost, safety, and multiple uses of the patches. She used this knowledge to design her own prototype, which she also had manufactured. She finished out her SDP by filing for a patent and sharing her experience in a video, featured below.
