We are so excited that our 3rd Annual FAMILIES FOR THE DAM is just around the corner and will take place on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024!
What is FAMILIES FOR THE DAM?
FAMILIES FOR THE DAM is an invitation to our parents/caregivers to show their support for the Annual Fund + Senior Annual Fund and celebrate the impact direct philanthropy has on our students and families.
Gifts to the Annual Fund allow us to put all the pieces together and strengthen every aspect of what makes Beaver so unique. It sustains key school initiatives, accelerates change, and allows us to respond quickly to emerging needs. Students, faculty, and campus life rely on the Annual Fund every day. During our FAMILIES FOR THE DAM giving day on April 2nd, we’ll share with you just a few highlights of how these pieces make Beaver complete for our whole community: students, faculty/staff, and parents/caregivers like you.
WHY DOES YOUR SUPPORT MATTER?
The Annual Fund makes up more than $2.3M of our operating budget each year. It ensures we’re able to be nimble and say “yes!” to the ideas our students and faculty come up with throughout the year and we need your support!
When a group of students came to us this year and asked if they could host a speaker and event for parents and students as part of the Student Mental Health Initiative–even though the funds weren’t previously budgeted–the Annual Fund allowed us to say yes right away!
Giving to the Annual Fund shows our community we are there for each other. In fact, Beaver’s faculty and staff were recently asked to support the Annual Fund and 90% of all teachers and staff gave a gift to demonstrate their belief in Beaver! It’s true, our faculty and staff are incredible at what they do every day AND they love our community. Now, we are asking our families to join them as Beaver Believers!
WHAT ABOUT THE SENIOR ANNUAL FUND?
Since 2008, parents from the senior class have provided a large portion (some years up to 25 percent) of the entire Annual Fund. It’s a “super-charged” Annual Fund gift. This campaign is also a time to pause, celebrate, and reflect on the positive academic and extracurricular experiences students have had, and the fondness we feel for the teachers. If you are a Senior Family, your gift on FAMILIES FOR THE DAM Day will count toward both places!

85% of the Annual Fund comes from current family support. With donations ranging from $25 to $100,000, we are thankful each year for this amazing show of participation. Your philanthropic investment at every level speaks volumes because your students are the ones benefiting from Beaver (& the Annual Fund) today … which brings us full circle back to the April 2nd giving day!
