Hello, Middle School Students and Families! Here’s a look at what’s happening in the Middle School.

THE WEEKLY FEATURES

THE BVR STUDENT

Mila Valkin ’29 and Natalie Moniz ’29 presented Collaborates positively and productively.

We chose this because it’s important to get out of your comfort zone and work with new people to expand your knowledge. It’s important to listen to other people’s ideas, keep an open mind and limit distractions. Collaborating with others will help you consider new perspectives.

WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT

April is National Poetry Month! Emerson Daly ’29 read a poem Soaring by Casey M. Costel.

Seniors Toby Otting ’23, Josie Lawrence ’23, and Spring Yan ’23 announced the Senior Art Show which will be in the Griffin Gallery starting Thursday, April 27, and will be up through Commencement. Seniors can apply to take this class during their senior year, and the culminating event is the art show.

Andrew Adamic ’27 and El Strom ’27, Student Council President and Vice President, announced that all Middle School students will be taking surveys this week to give their teachers feedback in the following areas:

  • What they’re learning
  • Their teachers’ expectations for them
  • How connected they feel with their teachers

The survey is anonymous, and teachers will receive a summary of the results. Teachers will not receive students’ individual answers.

Students and families will be receiving BVR Student feedback rubrics early next week. Teachers are assessing students in three areas:

  • I come to class ready to learn
  • My behaviors and choices allow me and others to learn
  • I am committed to growing as a student

The 7th Annual Film Festival was last week. Three Middle School films won awards:
