Upper School students had the pleasure of listening to Simon Tam from The Slants rock band about his journey as an artist and social activist, promoting allyship and civic engagement in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. He also had a fireside chat with Beaver AAPI students to delve deeper into topics and concepts.
Tam is the author of the memoir Slanted: How an Asian American Troublemaker Took on the Supreme Court, and the founder of The Slants Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing scholarships and mentorship to artist-activists of color.
