The rivalry is back!
The fourth annual BVR Bowl returns on November 19, bringing junior and senior female-identifying athletes together for another flag football showdown.
The seniors have dominated the competition since its debut, holding a perfect 3–0 record. Now, the Class of 2028 has a chance to make history as the first junior class to claim a BVR Bowl victory.
Will the seniors extend their winning streak to four straight, or will the juniors finally break through? Bragging rights are on the line!
Upper School students: Come support your classmates and see who takes home the BVR Bowl title!

At the end of each athletics season, the Beaver community comes together to celebrate our athletes and their accomplishments. Fall athletes and their families are invited to the Fall Athletics Awards Ceremony on November 16 to recognize our fall teams’ hard work, dedication, and achievements. The ceremony will also recognize Class of 2027 athletes.
Reminder: Attendance is mandatory for all fall athletes.
THIS FALL AT BEAVER
As the fall athletics season heads into its final stretch, here’s what our athletes have been up to:
This past October, Beaver Athletics recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a series of initiatives led by the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), bringing the community together to raise awareness and show support.
Throughout the month, SALT did an outstanding job raising awareness and encouraging the Beaver community to get involved. All Beaver athletic teams wore pink socks during competition to show their support, while Varsity Volleyball hosted a special Dig Pink game.
One of the month’s most meaningful moments came when past Beaver parent Liz Page, mother of alum Chloe Page ’18, joined the Upper School to share her personal experience with breast cancer. In her presentation, A Long Hallway to Healing, Liz reflected on her experience and the important role that community, compassion, and connection play throughout the healing process. Her message was simple but powerful: no one should have to face cancer alone. She reminded students and faculty that even the smallest gestures of support, whether offering a helping hand, checking in, or simply being present, can make a meaningful difference, not just for those facing cancer, but for anyone going through a difficult time.
She closed with a reminder worth carrying well beyond October: Celebrate Every Day!

A huge thank you to Liz for sharing her story and to SALT for leading such an important initiative. From pink socks on the fields and courts to meaningful conversations throughout our community, this month reminded us that Beaver Athletics is about more than competition. It’s about supporting one another and making a difference.

It’s time to celebrate the fall athletes in the Class of 2027!
Senior Days—held in the final weeks of each season—recognize Beaver’s graduating athletes and their contributions to their programs throughout their time here. This fall, our varsity volleyball, cross country, field hockey, boys soccer, girls soccer, and golf programs are all holding Senior Days and bringing coaches, teammates, and families together to honor their seniors.
From pregame celebrations to speeches and photos, these events give each team a chance to reflect on the impact their seniors have made and the example they’ve set for younger athletes.
Congratulations to our Class of 2027 fall seniors!

It’s not just our varsity seniors getting recognized this fall! Beaver Athletics is introducing a new tradition: 8th Grade Step-Up Days, celebrating our oldest Middle School athletes as they prepare to move to Upper School.
Throughout the final weeks of the season, Middle School teams are recognizing their 8th graders with a little help from their Upper School sibling teams. Upper School athletes are joining the festivities, creating hype tunnels during warmups, cheering from the sidelines with posters, and presenting each 8th grader with a certificate and personalized card from the Upper School team.
For teams without a direct Upper School counterpart, the celebrations are just as exciting! Middle School flag football partnered with varsity field hockey and golf for its Step-Up Day, bringing athletes from different sports together for a friendly scrimmage and a chance to recognize the eighth graders.
For many Upper School athletes, it’s an opportunity to return to the programs where they got their start and welcome the next generation. It’s also a chance for younger athletes to see what’s ahead and connect with the teammates they’ll soon join in Upper School.
The hope is that Step-Up Days become a tradition athletes look forward to each year, first as 8th graders being recognized and later as Upper School athletes returning to cheer on the next group.
Congratulations to our 8th graders! We’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished in Middle School athletics and can’t wait to see what you do next.
Dear Fellow BVR Athletics Families,
We are writing to introduce ourselves as your key contacts for BVR Athletics. In our new roles as Beaver’s Athletics Parent Ambassadors, we’re here to help support the experience for all athletes and their families.
First, we’d like to celebrate our four EIL Championships last year: golf, boys basketball, boys lacrosse, and softball! Did you know that Beaver has won 22 league championships over the last 10 years?! For more facts, figures, and pride points, click here.
Second, please consider signing up to be a team liaison. We’re looking to finalize one to three volunteers per team for all winter and spring sports in the coming month. We will follow up with all volunteers to confirm placement and needs. Liaison assignments will match athlete team assignments (e.g., if a student makes JV, the liaison will be for the JV team).
Here’s the list of responsibilities for team liaisons:
- Send a welcome email at the beginning of the season with info re: schedule (including RSS and livestream!), SmugMug pictures, and spirit on the sidelines (Great news—we’ll provide a draft to make it even easier)
- Create and distribute a SignUpGenius for away-game snacks (US only)
- Coordinate Senior Day posters (US only)
- Organize an end-of-season dinner (optional)
- Attend one preseason Zoom meeting with the BVR Athletics Department
Lastly, we look forward to seeing you on the court or sidelines at some point this year to cheer on our teams! We are so proud of our BVR athletes and Athletics Department for showing up each and every day. Remember to show your spirit by wearing your Beaver gear and your BVR Fan badge! If you don’t have one, please ask Abby Hewett.
Go Beaver!
