Hello, Middle School Students and Families! Below is a recap of this week’s MS Meeting.
Kaden Gould ’31 and Aarav Khanna ’31 ran today’s meeting. You can check out the slides from this week’s meeting here.
THE BVR STUDENT
David Yatskar ’29 shared “Incorporates feedback by reflecting, asking for help, and trying again.“
To me, this element means reflecting on your work, putting your most into what you do, and constant improvement of your work is essential upon completion of your work. For example, once completing our robotics unit for science in Mr. In Rohns class, we reflected on our work by creating a new page on Google Sites. Throughout this, we stated two different areas where we demonstrated our understanding of the subject. This process furthered my understanding and knowledge of the unit when revisiting my work and completion of it. Beaver provides an excellent opportunity to do this whether it be Science or English, we are always encouraged to reflect on our work and find room for improvement. Additionally, in math or any other subject, for that matter, when a problem or question is confusing or you just don’t understand it, it’s very important to ask for help and identify the correct way to go on with it. Any teacher would be glad to assist you in your work.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Jasper Ingenthron ’29 recapped the most recent Hiatt Leadership Institute, titled “Speak for Impact: Make Your Message Matter.” We learned how to speak so that others can understand us with clarity. We learned that Ravens have one of the most advanced skills in communication. Even though they are birds, they can make gestures, mimic other animal calls, and even talk and sound like humans. We also learned about how our emotions have a lot to do with how good we are when we communicate about important things.
The last Hiatt Institute workshop is taking place on May 12, and everyone is invited!
Special thank you to Mr. Hannan, who is covering 8th grade math. Thank you to Ms. Manyuru as well for her continued support in 6th grade math this year.

Ms. Smith talked about the Learning Speedway. During upcoming R-TIME and advisory, students will be reflecting on the BVR Student feedback. Students will review the feedback they will receive in an email tomorrow. Students will then complete a Google Slides presentation to share with their parents/caregivers.
