26 students from Beaver’s Upper School choirs spent four days in Music City (aka Nashville, Tennessee) doing a deep dive into the city’s music scene. Activities included a recording session at the historic RCA Studio B, a backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry, two shows at the Ryman Auditorium, and a vocal clinic with the Director of Choral Activities at Lipscomb University (Mr. Averitt‘s alma mater). Of course, trying some incredible southern cooking was also on the agenda.
It was cool to see a city I never thought about going to. Something I learned is that if you put emotion into a song, it will sound ten times better.
