A special thanks to Barbie Ray Stevens ’60 and her husband Rufus King III for hosting the Washington, DC Beaver Alumni Event at their home. Guests enjoyed hearing from Al Fitzpayne ’89, Deputy Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary at the Department of the Treasury, who shared his perspective on our current economic situation and the educational and professional path he has followed since graduating from Beaver.

The following day Christy Herlihy Cunningham-Adams ’63 conducted a tour and discussion of the Brumidi Murals at the Capitol Building. For the past eleven years Christy has been restoring the extensive murals which were painted from the mid 1850s through 1880. Her discussion provided a fascinating way to experience the history of the Capitol Building.
