Ceelie Beacham and her husband, Bill visit Pine Cay annually and we have a marvelous time reminiscing about the good old days at Beaver. After graduating from Beaver, I volunteered as a Red Cross Nurses Aid during WWII, which was an unforgettable experience that has served me well throughout my life. Then came marriage and raising 5 children and 8 grandchildren and hopefully great grands soon! So many wonderful memories as I look back over the years.

1961
Jean Gucker McKinney: Such fun going to Grandparents Day for Aiya and Macy (daughters of Larry McKinney ‘90 who is teaching at Beaver) and watching their soccer, basketball and lacrosse games. That way I get to be part of the (only as old as you feel!) old and new. The old is over 50 years with my husband, John, and the new is keeping up with nine grandchildren and all they are doing – the five children too. Happy May.

Carol Murray Kim: I really enjoyed my 50th reunion and hope to return to another soon. Retired from US Foreign Commercial Service in 2003 after a lengthy career promoting US exports and generally helping US companies trying to export or invest overseas. Served in Australia, Korea (South), Mexico, Thailand, India, and the Dominican Republic. Final two years spent as the Director of our Richmond, VA office. Love retirement! Doing lots of traveling, mostly by cruise ships, come join me if you would like to travel. Lots of concerts and museums to go to.

Elizabeth Valsam Hunter: Riding horses with my new hip is wonderful – I feel like a 16 year old again.

1965
Joanna Hawthorne Amick: I moved to Philadelphia in April, 2018 when my first grandson, Julian, was born. I retired from running the Brazelton Centre UK in late 2017 so this was ideal timing! I am so happy to be in the same country as my children at last. Julian is a delight and I babysit 3 days a week at the moment. Alexandra (36) has a busy job in Global Public Health which involves travel. Her husband Matt is job-hunting but has time to look after Julian too. Charles (33) and his wife Rachel live in San Francisco, but he visits frequently as he’s on the east coast or in Europe for business. Our 1965 class had such a great 50th reunion, we now meet every year, or more which is great fun. Please note my new address and telephone number as I shall be based in the USA for a while.
I plan to start teaching again when Julian is older.

Sandy Swift Bigelow: Excited to welcome grandchild #10! Love our ongoing class of ‘65 get togethers!

Madeleine Swift Butcher: We are building a house on San Juan Island, WA and Chas continues work on NCIS.

1969
Estelle Toby Goldstein: A couple of friends decided about a year and a half ago to do some kind of biography of me. They shaped it totally — this is their project, not mine. They wrote the script and booked the cinematographer, did the makeup and all that stuff. I am amazed at how it turned out. A couple of times, I thought the project was dead — they lost the first cinematographer and he took the footage with him. Various other things happened. It was originally supposed to be 6 to 8 minutes but the finished project is about 12 min. I was absolutely stunned when I saw it — I have cried a couple of times because it is so touching. Watch it here. There are many stories in my journey to becoming The Renegade Doctor — but this is one chapter that provided a lot of the motivation for me to take my long and difficult path. I hope you enjoy it and I’d love to hear from you.

1970
Toney Barry-Hanson: I started another career – teaching special education at the high school level. I also work as a guardian ad litem for kids in foster care. Adopted Maci last year. She’s six- I’ve had her since she was 9 months. Hello to all!

Judith Brodie: After a gratifying career as a curator at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, I stepped down in October. I have always wanted to return to my artistic roots, nurtured in classes with Mr. Tabery and subsequently at RISD. Thus I have had a studio built behind our house and am transitioning to making art. I am not looking for fame, just hoping that there are some creative juices left.

1971
Robby Morse Levy: Enjoyed the greatest reunion in New York with Pinky Ohanian Heath, Sheila Sweeney, and Diane Lyne on the roof deck at the spectacular Aretsky’s Patroon. Can’t wait to reunite with these gorgeous, remarkable, hilarious women I love.

1979

1986
Rebecca McLaughlin Burton: I continue to work with people experiencing mental illness and now, complex medical issues and still in a residential setting. My husband, Evan, and I own a rescue Australian cattle dog, Aurora, age 5, who we love dearly. Wildlife does encroach on urban life; driving home from work, you can glimpse coyotes within the city limits.

2006
Aaron Dezube: Aaron and his wife Jessica are proud parents of new baby girl, Avery Nora.

2013
Nolan Flaherty: Applying all that good learning from BCDS each and every day! Keep up the good work.
