The Beaver 9 offense exploded and their pitching gave up only one hit as they opened Upper Field with a win.
Marking the first contest of their year in the comfy confines of Chestnut Hill, Henry Floyd took the ball and surrendered just one hit to grab his first win of the season. The offense was paced by junior captain Connor Laubenstein who had three hits and scored three runs. Freshmen Davey Harwood and Tyler Deluca saw their first action of the young season each garnering a hit and combining to score five runs between them. Second year man Devon Friedfertig toed the rubber for the first time, throwing an inning of hitless relief to shut the door on the visiting Chargers from Chapel-Hill Chauncey-Hall.
Beaver looks to stay perfect in Eastern Independent League play as they host the Bancroft Bulldogs at 4:30, on Friday, at the diamond on the Upper Field.
