Gabe Fields pitched another strong four innings despite the score. Though Rivers only generated a couple of key hits throughout the day, Beaver was plagued by miscues and bobbles. The team continues to work on getting those key outs when they present themselves. Special congrats goes to the youngest players on the team today, all 9th graders. C. Zobel-Williams hit a double off the left field gate earning his first Varsity hit. R. McCarthy caught all six innings today and batted lead off. O. Mayo saw his first varsity action of the year, earning a walk and scoring a put out in the field.

Logan McClennen, Grade 9, saw his first action on the mound of his varsity career and struck out his first batter. There were signs of taking clear steps forward, and the team is still working on putting it all together.

Some boys hit the ball hard (Berlin, McCarthy, Zobel-Williams, Rabinovitz...) but the line-up could not string it together to produce runs today. Combine that with untimely errors and key hits by Portsmouth, Beaver fell to PA 12-0.

The team jumped out to a 2-0 nothing lead in the first inning but due to some timely hitting and aggressive base running by Bancroft, that lead evaporated quick. The afternoon settled into a back and forth affair between Beaver and Bancroft ultimately ending in a Tie due to the Umpires making a call that an extra inning game would potentially not have enough sunlight. Will Berlin lead the day going 2-2 at the plate with a triple, single and RBI. Pete Rabinovitz pitched another hero's game giving up five runs, but, throwing a healthy number of pitches carrying the team into the sixth inning. Varsity baseball began the day finishing up the May 1st tied game versus Bancroft in the 8th inning. The boys could not have started the day any better scoring 6 runs in the top of the 8th. W. Berlin closed out Bancroft bottom of the 8th and picked up the win.

The Boys fired on all cylinders today and came away with a big win versus Lexington Christian Academy. Though fully a team effort, Will Berlin led the way with pitching seven strong innings striking out 8 LCA batters. Berlin was also 2-3 at the plate netting a double and 3 RBI's. The Boys managed to string together good at bats which generated runs over time. R. McCarthy and C. Zobel-Williams continue to get on base at the top of the order which sets the table. Zobel-Williams managed to get on base four times today. P. Rabinovitz went 2-3 today with a double and chipped in an RBI, and freshman Logan McClennon notches his first double and RBI on the year. Definitely the soundest game start to finish the Boys have played this year.

Brimmer outlasts Beaver in a 10 inning affair, Brimmer winning the contest 5-3. Every player played today with A. Calderon, M. Robins, O. Mayo, E. Kanoja, and C. Jacobs making their first starts of the season. Denomme and McCarthy led the way with two hits each and Rabinovitz and Fields continue to excel on the mound. Costly errors and failure to take advantage of opportunities was too much to overcome today.

Ultimately, great baseball game and contest this afternoon between two comparable teams. Beaver lead the game being up 1-0 for four innings, and then the teams tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th.
