Among glowing lights, delectable dishes and beverages, parents from every grade had an opportunity to mingle, catch up and meet each other in September and October. Thanks to those who organized, contributed items and attended. The events ranged from drinks and appetizers, dinner, and the senior class tested out our luck at Casino Night complete with “Beaver bucks”.

Buttons were distributed and are still rolling out in an effort to help the Beaver community identify each other at sporting events. Look around and gather the Beaver parents together to cheer on the teams this fall.

Not sure if your kids are doing homework or watching Netflix, playing a game or perhaps engaged in something else? Dr. Abigail Judge, shared her perspectives reminding the assembled parents and administration that the adolescent period extends through the mid-twenties. Her concluding thoughts included the best ways to ensure good decision making in teens is to communicate when possible, ask open ended questions and listen without judgment. The question and answer was punctuated with thoughtful questions reminding teens to google themselves, and that their online presence could hinder or help future school choices or employment Read Dr. Judge’s reflection on her visit to Beaver here.
