The Class of 2016 Gives Back

The Class of 2016 wrapped up the Senior Gift Annual Fund fundraising campaign this past Thursday, reaching their goal of 100 percent participation by securing gifts and pledges from every member of their class!

It’s been incredible to see so many of my friends and peers donate to the Annual Fund, and the level of participation shows how much Beaver means to us. The faculty, innovation, and opportunities Beaver has offered us have made our high school experiences unique for each student. I am confident the class will agree with me when I say Beaver is a special place, and we will miss it so much next year! – Tim Sebastian ’16, Senior Class Gift Committee

To celebrate their incredible success, the Office of Philanthropy and Engagement treated the seniors to a Taco Truck at lunch today.

Led by the Senior Class Gift Committee, which consisted of the seven seniors listed below, the campaign focused on the impact of the Annual Fund on students and the importance of giving back. Students were asked to donate $5 – the cost of a Starbucks latte or two slices of pizza – however, all dollar amounts were celebrated.

The campaign kicked off on February 11 with a Senior Luncheon that featured Beaver alumni Max Campion ’09 – Founder and Mobile App Developer of Campaign Designs, LLC – and Peter Georgakas ’07 – MD candidate at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The two former students shared college and early professional advice and explained how they have benefited from staying connected to Beaver after graduation.

The campaign also received support from members of the 50th Reunion Committee. The group happened to be on-campus last month for a planning meeting and shared how impressed they were by the Class of 2016’s fundraising efforts.

Beaver 1966 50th Reunion Committee members, Pippy Giuliano, Robin Wiley Cutler, Louise Godine, and Cindy Baker Burns showed their support for the senior class student giving campaign.
